NSM install @ CentOS

Install procedure

  1. Install CentOS 5.3
    1. Download CentOS install ISO from http://vault.centos.org/5.3/isos/i386/CentOS-5.3-i386-bin-1of6.iso
    2. Please follow these criteria(its IMPORTANT): 5.3 & i386 & disk1
    3. Install with minimum CentOS (do not select any service and application).
  2. Temporary disable iptables Firewall
    1. #service iptables stop
    2. #chkconfig –level 12345 iptables off
  3. Edit /etc/yum.repos.d/CentOS-Base.repo 照下面的改吧，其他都是照樣照句。會改這個是因為 5.3 已經 EOL 了，所以得用 vault.centos.org 抓套件
    name=CentOS-5.3 - Base
baseurl=http://vault.centos.org/5.3/os/$basearch/
  4. Backup /etc/redhat-release, Change content from “CentOS release 5.3 (Final)” to “Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5”
  5. Pre-Install package
    • libfontenc
      • #yum install libfontenc
  6. #unzip nsm2011.4s1-systemupdate-linux.zip
  7. #tar -xvf nsm2011.4s1-systemupdate-linuxES_5.tar
  8. #cd es5 ; sh ./rhes5.sh
  9. install NSM
    • #./nsm2011.4s1_servers_linux_x86.sh
